“Last year was our first year of touring, and the Kensington Day of the Book was one of our first stops. It was a delightful festival… I would like to say that there were some great exhibitors, but we were so busy with attendees coming to our table that I wasn’t able to go more than a few tables in either direction. Several of our authors were able to join us and they all enjoyed their experiences and many will be returning with us this year…in the charming downtown of Kensington to celebrate the Day of the Book.”
–  Keith Shovlin, aois21 publishing (2016)

SFWP is an independent press dedicated to the craft of writing.

We stand by our authors and we stand by our books, embracing new trends and ideas beyond those of the current publishing industry.

Our history, and our mission, goes far beyond publishing. At the heart of SFWP, we are a resource for authors. Since 2000, we have hosted an internationally recognized Literary Awards Program. Since 2002, we have maintained an online Literary Journal which provides a home for published and unpublished authors, featuring fiction, creative nonfiction, book reviews, and experimental work. We publish our winning authors, and 90% of our previous Awards Program winners have gone on to publication.

All of our titles are distributed by the Independent Publishers Group. Our books are available worldwide, in every format, everywhere books are sold.

The company was founded in 1998 by Andrew Gifford. SFWP is dedicated to artistic preservation, recognizing exciting new authors, and bringing out of print work back to the shelves.

Javier de Winthuysen was a modernist artist, dedicated to the environmental practice of recording what he saw in nature at his native province of Seville during the first part of his life, and the rest of Spain during his mature years. Winthuysen recorded picturesque localities and was a pioneer in the field of landscape picturesque site conservation. His autobiography testifies a very important part of Spanish History, the end of the XIX century and beginning of the XX, when the good intentions of the Republican Government ended in failure.
The Winthuysen Foundation, Inc. offers, for free, the use of the virtual books that it published, during the years 2014 and 2015.

Gargoyle Magazine / Paycock Press

An international literary magazine founded in Washington, D.C. in 1976, Gargoyle has always been a scallywag magazine, a maverick magazine, a bit too academic for the underground and way too underground for the academics.

Eric Leland’s Manufactory

I am an illustrator and a letterpress printmaker located in Baltimore, Maryland.  Very much of my current work is self directed. I have no shortage of eccentric ideas and I love to commit them to paper and sell them to unsuspecting patrons at art markets, in stores and though my website and Etsy shop. I have my own small letterpress printing and bookbinding studio. I love to use my antique machinery to create my products, which include books, calendars, greeting cards, poster and prints, and all manner of other ephemera.

I am also willing to consider commissions when I feel like client and project are a good fit for my interests and abilities. I’ll be featuring some of my past projects on my blog in the coming months. If you have something in mind, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
