Where In The World – Global is a small sole-proprietorship business, registered in Maryland / Montgomery County, specializing in new children’s books about people and cultures around the world. Most are picture books for ages 3-9, but we also carry baby board books and some middle-school/teen fiction. Most of the books are published in the U.S., but we have a few from India, Indonesia, Singapore, Ireland, and the UK

The Flying Camel Wonder Emporium, a new project by Eat Local for Less author Julie Castillo, is a “limnal space” that aims to bring people together, inspire creativity, and encourage critical thinking. We offer new and used books, buttons, exotic and adventurous decor, creativity joggers, and a few little fun items to help make the world a better place. Throughout the day we offer short, fun presentations on topics such as healthy eating, sustainable living, critical thinking, American democracy, and more. Please stop by and say hello!

With their well-known flare and good cheer, Firouzeh and two or more other WMAS members will demonstrate a number of picture-making techniques, answer any questions on that subject which attendees may ask, and in particular welcome conversations with children (and their parents) who’d like to know just what art’s all about and how to get started in it. Hand-painted bookmarks will be given out free as keepsakes in honor of literature worldwide. An assortment of small framed paintings will be on sale at reasonable rates. (Gift buyers, take note.)
